Spokane International Airport
The Spokane International Airport is a 6,140-acre commercial service airport served by eight airlines and two air cargo carriers. The airport processed over 4.1 million passengers and 68,981 U.S. air cargo tons in 2019. It is the second largest airport in the State of Washington and recognized by the FAA as a small hub. The Airport is an employment for over 3,000 people and has an important and expanding airfield aerospace industry cluster. The Airport annually has a $725 million annual economic impact on the Spokane Region.
The operating authority of Spokane Airports is the Spokane Airport Board, consisting of seven appointees from the two governmental bodies. The Board annually invests approximately $30 million in capital improvements utilizing various funding sources.
The Board operates three facilities: Spokane International Airport, Felts Field Airport, and the Airport Business Park, as well as, has a Grant of Authority to operate Foreign-Trade Zone #224. All three facilities are financially self-sufficient from revenues generated from fees, leases and concession agreements. None of the three entities receive, nor are operated with, appropriated tax dollars.
The Airport’s property is immediately adjacent to Interstate 90 and access provided by 4 interchanges. High-capacity utilities including sanitary sewer, water, natural gas, electricity, and high-pressure steam heat are available. In addition to air and surface transportation, rail service is also available on the property west of the Terminal building. Property can be leased on a long-term basis (up to 50 years) or purchased. Through the AIR Spokane partners, facilities can be built-to-suit or privately financed and constructed.
