Port of West Virginia

Empire Trimodal Terminal, LLC is now officially known as The Port of West Virginia. We are located on the Ohio River in Brooke County in West Virginia’s Northern Panhandle. Our Ohio River Industrial Complex consists of over 1000 acres and includes over 8000 contiguous feet of river frontage. Our facility is less than 30 miles from the Pittsburgh International Airport and only 70 river miles from the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers at The Point in downtown Pittsburgh. With five miles of company-owned rail complementing our on-site barge and truck access, we are well situated geographically and commercially to serve the growing inland-terminal needs of the Midwestern U.S.

Construction of the Port of West Virginia is underway and will substantially enhance the lay-down areas already in place at the site. This new project, initiated with $26 million in tax-exempt bonds issued through the State of West Virginia, will include:

  • Bulk and Breakbulk Containers Terminal
  • Heavy-lift pad
  • RoRo dock
  • ISO container storage
  • Liquids transfer and storage
  • Climate-controlled storage buildings
  • Office space available

Additional expansion is planned for the complex to leverage the continued growth of the region’s industrial, petrochemical, and manufacturing base.
