Oklahoma Department of Transportation

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) Waterways Division works closely with the ports, terminals, and industries along the 445-mile-long McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System (MKARNS). The Waterways Division promotes, advocates, educates, and facilitates growth and reliability of the navigation system through coordinating efforts with industry, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Congressional Delegates, and other federal, state, and local entities.

Due to ODOT’s commitment to support the ports and the freight and shipping opportunities provided for the state, numerous transportation system improvement projects have been completed and are scheduled in their vicinities. ODOT has also provided funding for projects and grant opportunities, studies, and marketing/educational materials to help with these endeavors.
