Lake Providence Parish Port

The Lake Providence Port is an inland shallow-draft port located on the Mississippi river in Lake Providence, LA in East Carroll Parish. The Lake Providence Port if one of the top 20 U.S. inland ports and ships over 1.3 million tons annually. The Port is the largest inland port in Louisiana, and is the second leading Louisiana port in tonnage among the state’s network of inland and coastal ports. The port ranks third in operating revenue. The Port of Lake Providence is one of the fastest growing inland river ports in the U.S. Lake Providence Port is located on the Mississippi river with access to The Gulf of Mexico providing an efficient, reliable and green transportation network.

The Port of Lake Providence is easily accessible to ground transportation by U.S. Highway 65.  Lake Providence Port connects to the continental U.S., Canada and Mexico.  Connectivity includes river, road (US 65, LA 3181 and LA 2) and rail. The Lake Providence Port complex itself is serviced by both the Delta Southern Railroad and the Northern Louisiana Arkansas Railway Company. Additionally, the accessibility has attracted different kinds of industries that have made the economy of the port and the whole of Louisiana expand exponentially.
