Kaskaskia Regional Port District (KRPD)

KRPD has 5 terminal locations, four on the Kaskaskia River and one on the Mississippi River.

 

KRPD #1 is located at RM 24.5 and is rail served by the Canadian National Railroad.  Currently we accept shipments inbound barge to rail or storage.  There is a 125 car rail loop to service the terminal.  The terminal is planned to have a major upgrade to accommodate outbound products.  A second rail loop will be constructed.  This site also has an oversized roll-off/roll-on ramp for large equipment.

KRPD #2 is located at RM 18 on the Kaskaskia River.  This multi-tenant port is rail served by the Canadian Railroad and there are two dock one with a 50-ton overhead crane.  Land is available for future tenants.  Common commodities shipped through the terminal are fertilizer, slag, coiled steel, coal and gypsum.

The Kellogg terminal is located on the Mississippi River at RM 125.  It is a lock-free and ice-free port for outbound products. The terminal is a rail to barge terminal capable of receiving and loading at a rate of 4,000 tons per hour.  This public multi-purpose dock is capable of storing up to 1,000,000 tons of coal and has a 300 rail car yard with service provided by Union Pacific Railroad.

Fayetteville is a new “greenfield” terminal.  It is located at RM 36 on the Kaskaskia River and is within 15 miles of Belleville, IL and Scott Air Force Base.  The entire site is above the 500-year floodplain.  Land is available for lease.
