Hickman-Fulton County Riverport Authority, Inc.

Since 1978, the Hickman-Fulton County Riverport has served as the only public port on the east side of the Mississippi River in Kentucky.  This port is located on the lower Mississippi at mile 922 in the Elvis J. Stahr Harbor, with no locks south of St. Louis, Missouri, creating a distinct advantage regarding waterborne shipping costs. It is also located in the geographic center of a major grain producing area.

The port facilities are on Kentucky Highway 94, with additional access routes via Kentucky Highways 125, 166 and 309. The Riverport is 20 miles from U.S. Highway 51 and Kentucky Purchase Parkway.  The port is on approximately 10 acres of land and we are capable of handling large volumes of products.  A grain handling conveyor system is used to load grain from the storage & handling facility directly to barge.  A general cargo conveyor system is used for offloading product to storage or to railcar.

Warehousing at the Riverport consists of an 18,000 sq. ft. building used by a Port tenant and a 10,000 sq. ft. building that is connected to the general cargo dock via a conveyor system.

Its New Diesel-hydraulic PLM1220 duty cycle crane located at our multi-purpose general cargo dock in conjunction with a large staging area allows for the efficient and continual discharge and movement of numerous products.  We are a full-service facility.

Rail Service at the port is provided by a short line railroad, the TennKen Railroad Company. The rail line connects to a Class 1 connection in Dyersburg, Tennessee. All rail tracks within the confines of the Riverport are owned and maintained by the port.
