Job Summary

The All-Around Operator / welder, under the direction of the Supervisor, will primarily be responsible for MIG (GMAW) welding final assemblies using production fixtures/jigs in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Job Duties

• Capable of setting up workstation complete with associated tools.
• Read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints with accuracy.
• Selecting, measuring, joining appropriate metals to specification
• Weld parts to specified dimensions and Calhoun quality standards.
• Ensure that all welds are complete and of good quality.
• Diagnose issues and troubleshooting as required
• Ensure proper care of welding equipment and supplies
• Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective and courteous manner with coworkers and supervisors.
• Guide and direct activities of inexperienced, student or trainee welders.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Monitor inventory levels of materials and notify supervisor of any stock shortage

Job Requirements

• Energetic individuals, able to work in fast paced environment with high productivity.
• Minimum 1 year experience with GMAW (MIG) welding in a production environment.
• Transferable CWB certification is an asset.
• Experience using overhead cranes an asset.
• Able to read tape measure is a must (using imperial)
• Willingness to work extended hours of work as necessary to ensure deadlines and priorities are met, including overtime and weekends.

Work Conditions

• Standing for up to 10 hours per day
• Frequent movement (lifting (up to 60lbs), carrying, bending, turning and pulling)
• Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as per company standards (safety glasses, gloves and steel-toed CSA certified boots)

Hours of Work

• Monday thru Thursday 6:00am – 4:30pm. Fridays off.
• Willingness to work extended hours of work as necessary to ensure deadlines and priorities are met, including overtime and weekends.
