DREDGING OPERATIONS Gulf Intracoastal Waterway 20 Grand Point, Mile 99, and Wax Lake Outlet

Effective immediately and continuing through approximately 15 February 2024, the U.S. Government Contract Cutterhead Dredge KINGFISHER will be working in the vicinity of Morgan City, Louisiana, at 20 Grand Point, Mile 99, and Wax Lake Outlet Intersection in the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW).

The dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will deposit dredged material through a combination of floating and submerged pipelines in the deep water of the Atchafalaya River.

Besides dredging equipment, there are numerous work and support vessels associated with this dredging operation.

The dredge will be monitoring VHF Marine Channels 13, 16, and 72.

Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
