Red River Lock 1 Update – Future Repairs

This is an update regarding the discussion on our last navigation call about future maintenance and repairs for needed gate adjustments discovered after the emergency closure to Lock 1 in October.

The Lock will continue normal operations 24/7.

The Corps has determined that it is unlikely there will be any construction in 2024 or 2025. When the time comes to address the issues of adjusting the gates, the Corps of Engineers has assured me that there will be a minimum of 60 to 90 days lead time and the Red River Valley Association, and its Industry members will have significant influence in scheduling.
